When the Creator added the letter Hei to the names of both Abram and Sarai, He said, “Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but you shall be Abraham, for the father of a multitude of nations (av hamon ) have I made you.” (Genesis 17:5) Here, God actually was creating an acronym from two words, av and hamon , meaning literally “father of a multitude of nations.” The previous name, Abram, meant simply “father of Aram,” which is the place Abram/Abraham came from.

God then told Abraham to cast new horoscopes and prepare new natal charts for himself and his wife, using the name changes as the new moment of birth for each of them .
